Abstract painting is a journey into the self.
My name is Cornelia Zelinka-Bodis. I am a visual artist and art educator. I started my professional life in graphic design and have been working in advertising for 20 years. For me, abstract painting is not unrelated to design, as I simply switched from designing text and image elements to composing marks, shapes and colors.
In my art I am interested in the interplay between conscious decisions and chance, that is, between control and chaos. I am fascinated by playing with differences - light and dark, hidden and visible - and working in many layers. The artworks evoke emotions and are as varied as life itself.
I occasionally give in-person workshops in my hometown near Vienna, Austria, but mainly have online courses on Skillshare.
